1. Windsor

The council has berths available for boats along the Thames at the Windsor Promenade.

Mooring fees are

  • £8 for a 24 hour overnight period for boats under 40 feet.
  •  £10 for a 24 hour overnight period for boats of 40 feet and over.
  • 2 hour free mooring - there is an area in front of Barry's Cafe which can accommodate up to three boats.
  • 25% discount to Advantage Card holders.

Fees are payable to the bailiff (Windsor Castle Moorings). Mooring is restricted to Environment Agency-licensed craft only (no return within 24 hours).

A water fill-up point for river users is located adjacent to the slipway near the Queen Elizabeth Bridge (Royal Windsor Way bridge). It has fresh water mains supply via a bibcock tap.

To ensure all river users can easily access the water point by using the berth adjacent to the water point, this berth is not available for overnight mooring. Once tanks have been filled please leave the berth as quickly as possible to allow others to use the water point.


Thames water lever can vary approx +/- 1.5m in a 24 hour period. The normal rise and fall in a 24 hour period approx1m is possible hence the offer for attendance. all vessels must have the appropriate insurance.
