4. A4 Bath Road (near Westmorland Road) - Pedestrian Refuge Island - Closed
In response to requests for improvements to pedestrian crossing facilities on the A4 Bath Road in the vicinity of Westmorland Road and Boyndon Road, the borough has prepared two design options for the potential installation of a new pedestrian refuge island.
Although the option of a refuge island in the length of road between the Tesco car park entrance and Boyndon Road was explored, due to the need to accommodate turning movements from the Tesco car park exit, left turn movements from Boyndon Road, and access to off-street parking for premises on the south side of Bath Road, it is not possible to install a refuge island in this area.
To view a plan showing the proposals, please see the A4 Bath Road - Pedestrian Refuge Island Plan.
The borough is keen to hear from residents on whether they support proposals for one of the two locations identified for a possible new pedestrian refuge island and if so, which location would be preferred. Please have your say by completing the A4 Bath Road - Pedestrian Refuge Island Survey.
Although it will not be possible to respond individually to responses received, all responses will be taken into consideration and will help inform a decision on how to proceed.
The consultation closed on Sunday 28 July 2019.
