Grants to Voluntary Organisations
Please note: All revenue funding for the 2020/21 financial year has been allocated. There is some capital funding remaining for 2020/21 financial year. Grant applications for the financial year 2021/22 are now being accepted; any grant applications received will be considered under delegated authority from the Grants Panel.
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead supports non-profit making voluntary organisations through its grants to voluntary organisations funding scheme.
There are several categories of funding covering running costs, equipment, transport, administration, premises hire, building projects, one-off events, staffing costs and training. Please read the guidance notes before completing the grant application form below.
For a word version of the Grants application form, please contact the grants administrator: [email protected]
All payments for grants applied for prior to the beginning of the financial year will be paid on or just after 1 April; applications received after the beginning of the financial year will be paid out on an ongoing basis.
Capital grants are paid on receipt of invoice and site visit taking place.
The main round for 2020/21 grants is already underway, however applications can be submitted at any point during the year.
All applicants should complete an application form and include copies of:
- Annual independent audited accounts for the last two financial years.

Revenue grants are made to address specific issues of need in local communities, to encourage new groups to be established, and to encourage local levels of civic participation and volunteering.
Capital grants are made towards capital schemes i.e., the acquisition of land, the acquisition / construction / extension / improvement of a building and/or the purchase of equipment to provide new or improved facilities.

'3' Community Grassroots Grant Fund
The aim of the Royal Borough '3' Community Grassroots Fund is to provide grant funding to small voluntary and community groups and organisations in the Windsor and Maidenhead area, enabling them to continue or expand their work, including advocacy, community voice and service provision.
Any organisation operating within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and established for charitable purposes can apply, provided there is a formal structure which will allow for monitoring of activity. The Fund seeks applications primarily from groups working with young people. Examples include homework clubs, skills development and activities relating to the prevention of crime, counselling, mentoring or volunteering, youth clubs, arts, culture or the environment. Further information is available on the Berkshire Community Foundation website.
