Stafferton Way tip open

Stafferton Way Household Waste and Recycling Site is now open, following a temporary closure due to the COVID-19 outbreak, to give residents the chance to dispose of waste that cannot be safely stored at home.

Waste and recycling collections moved to fortnightly (updated 3 July 2020)

On Monday 6 April 2020 we moved to alternate weekly waste and recycling collections following staff reductions due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

This means that from Monday 6 April general refuse (black bin) is collected one week and recycling (blue bin) is collected the following week. Food waste collections will continue to be collected weekly. Your collection day will remain the same but the time of day may change.

Those in properties where the bins are communal will continue to have all their waste and recycling collected weekly.

We will be returning to a weekly collection service for food, waste and recycling, alongside the fortnightly garden waste collections. After a discussion with our waste contractors, Serco, we have agreed that this change will take place in mid August.

Changes to the calendar

Currently collections of textiles and small electrical items are being made by a separate van and not by the recycling crews. Please continue to leave your bags out for collection and they will be picked up. If your items have not been collected by 4pm on your collection day, please report it.
