5. Draft Charging Schedule

This Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Draft Charging Schedule (DCS) sets out the proposed rates that will be applied to new development within the borough. The rates vary by the location of and type of development. The funds raised will be used to secure the provision of infrastructure.

The council believe the rates are set at a level that strikes an appropriate balance between the need to fund infrastructure in the borough without imposing an undue economic burden on development viability and have taken into account the issues raised in the Preliminary Draft Charging Schedule consultation.

The DSC is now subject to consultation. Comments should be received by 5pm, Monday 23 November 2015.

Following the closure of the consultation, the DCS will be subject to an independent examination before it is introduced. All comments received in response to this consultation will be considered by an Examiner as part of the examination process.
