Parking in Maidenhead regeneration

Parking

600+ new parking spaces planned for the town

The regeneration programme, improved economic development opportunities, improved connectivity, and the borough’s status as a major tourism destination does and will continue to generate an increase in parking demand across the borough. The current Maidenhead parking capacity is 3,292 spaces.

The council has made a commitment to maintaining provision for visitors to the town throughout phases of redevelopment providing temporary solutions and investing approximately £31m in replacing the ageing Broadway car park and £6m in temporary parking options in the town.

Investment in parking is one element of infrastructure improvements being delivered to support regeneration in the town centre.

Vicus Way multi-storey car park

A proposal document for the Vicus Way multi-storey car park is now available to view online

The proposals at Vicus Way will provide 500 long-stay spaces, primarily for use by commuters and town centre employees, thus supporting local businesses and freeing up other town centre parking for short-stay use by shoppers and other visitors.
