1. About the service

The garden waste collection service is now running again from Monday 6 April. Please put your garden waste out for collection on your normal garden waste collection week.

All subscribers will have one extra collection added to their subscription to cover the collection while the service was suspended.

Here are some ideas of ways to reduce your garden waste:

Grasscycling is the natural recycling of grass by leaving clippings on the lawn when mowing.  Grass clippings contain moisture, valuable nutrients, and decompose quickly. Grasscycling saves time and money and helps the environment. Mowing time is reduced since bagging and disposal of clippings is eliminated. Grass clippings add valuable nutrients and organic matter to the soil and produce healthy, green lawns.

Build a compost heap and compost your garden waste. More information can be found at www.getcomposting.com

Reduce the frequency at which you cut the lawn and let the grass grow longer.

We are currently not able to accept new subscriptions where a bin is required, or additional subscriptions, as we are not able to deliver bins due to staff shortages. Please only use the form to renew an existing subscription or start a new subscription if you already have a bin on site. (23/03/2020)

Avoid the time, cost and hassle of putting garden waste in your car and taking it to the recycling site and sign up to our green waste service.

A one-year subscription costs just £65.

You will get:

  • A wheelie bin which is easy to use and can be stored neatly in a corner of your garden
  • A fortnightly green garden waste collection

We will collect:

  • Flowers
  • Plants
  • Grass cuttings
  • Leaves
  • Hedge trimmings
  • All weeds except for Japanese Knotweed
  • Small branches
