The leader of the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead has paid tribute to PC Gareth Browning of Thames Valley Police.
Cllr Simon Dudley attended PC Browning’s funeral on Thursday 1 June to pay respects after he was killed by injuries sustained while on duty.
Cllr Dudley said: “All of us in the Thames Valley owe our lives and our safety to the brave men and women in the emergency services and it was an honour to be there to pay tribute to PC Gareth Browning.
"On behalf of the Royal Borough I would like to offer sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. He gave the ultimate sacrifice in his work for Thames Valley Police and he will not be forgotten.”
The council has made a donation to Thames Valley Air Ambulance, in honour of PC Browning.
